4. Recommended Guidelines for Communications Between Area and Districts

I. Communicate the mission statement with the fellowship to educate members on the cost of access needs at the area level.

II. Translate the Area Newsletter into Spanish 4 times per year; the issues will include quarterly business meeting minutes, motions, etc.

III. Point of Contact:
a. Through the Area Newsletter.
b. Through the Area Website.
c. Accessibility Flier.
d. Contact through Intergroup, Central Service Office, Area Chair Persons, and DCMs to address all groups.
e. Wording about most cost efficient and effective methods of providing service.

IV. Communicate a formal introduction to the Area through the Newsletter, Assembly, or Quarterly to educate:
a. All DCMs of the costs, the budget, and that the fees can increase substantially.
b. About what the budget issues are.

V. Inform districts of the need for an Accessibilities Chair from each District.

VI. Act as bridge from the Area Committee to Central Service Offices, Intergroups, and Districts as to accessibility needs.

VII. Gather information from the fellowship regarding their needs in order provide assistance.
